After School Achievement Club at Ren 2

The After School Achievement Club is the name of the tuition-funded program offered by 82nd Street Academics at Renaissance Charter School 2 in Elmhurst.

  • Are you concerned to see your child struggling in school?
  • Are you frustrated with After School programs that don’t get the homework done?
  • Are you anxious that you choose a safe place for your child until you are home from work?

Let 82nd Street Academics with the Afterschool Achievement Club get rid of your concern with student success.

Students in Afterschool getting homework done.

Experience optimism instead of frustration as your child has their homework done correctly day after day.

It meets longer than the 21st Century program and ends at 6pm daily.

The approach to homework is somewhat different since it starts with a homework lounge and students leave for the group programs only after their homework is complete and correct.

  • We promise that homework will be complete and correct and we make notes of any longer project meant to completed over several days. If you need the homework promise, please do not pick up students early.
  • We promise to delight students with time budgets, gamification, Readers Theater, STEAM projects and creative disruptors that keep student engagement high.
  • We promise social/emotional development and parent meetings twice a year to discuss the indicators that we measure.

OUR GOAL – To prepare your student for entrance into one of the 10 best middle schools closest to your home.

Renaissance Charter School 2

We are successful because we understand that students cannot maintain a high energy level for 6 hours of school a day and then for 4 more hours of study.

We supplement homework completion with a good meal, movement instructor, and teacher-led projects in each class that build on exciting ideas from science, geography, culture…and playground fun!

8 Social-Emotional Skills for High School Success –

Our success continues with 8 Social-Emotional skills that we work with students to develop :

  • Personal Responsibility
  • Optimistic Thinking
  • Goal-Directed Behavior
  • Relationship Skills
  • Social Awareness
  • Self Awareness
  • Self Management
  • Decision Making

Studies show that these 8 skills will prepare students to enter high school with confidence, skills, and determination to finish projects and homework without parent pressure.
