The Renaissance Charter School (REN1) has been a pillar of academic excellence in Jackson Heights since its founding in 1993. Authorized by the Chancellor of the NYC Department of Education and originally established as a first-generation "New Visions School," REN1 serves 550 students from kindergarten through high school, providing a strong foundation for future success.

Each day at REN1’s after-school program is designed to provide a balance of academic support, enrichment activities, and social engagement. Students start with a nutritious meal and a social-emotional learning check-in, followed by interactive sessions in STEM, leadership, and the arts. Homework assistance and literacy support ensure academic growth, while sports, organized games, and creative projects keep students active and engaged. Our goal is to create a dynamic and supportive environment where students can learn, explore, and build lifelong skills.
